Privacy Policy
Effective September 16, 2026
The short version
- Every calendar on monthkey works without an account, and we never ask for your name or email address.
- Notes you type into a calendar and your print settings stay in your own browser. They are never sent to us.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and the site may show ads served by Google, which uses cookies.
- You can block cookies, opt out of personalized ads, and write to us at contact@monthkey.com with any question.
Information we collect
Usage data through Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google LLC, to count visits and learn which pages and features are useful. It sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, and records information such as the pages you view, your device and browser type, your approximate location and how you arrived at the site. We also record when features are used, for example that a note was saved, a print option was switched on or a holiday was added to a calendar. These records never include the text of your notes.
Technical data processed by our host
monthkey is served through Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical information such as IP addresses and request details. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure how quickly pages load; it works without cookies.
Notes and settings in your browser
If you add notes to a calendar or switch on options such as Lines for notes or Landscape, they are saved in your browser's local storage on your device. They are not sent to our servers and are not shared with anyone. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes them.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message, and we use them only to reply to you.
Advertising and cookies
monthkey may display ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info. To learn more, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Your choices
- Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. The calendars still work without them.
- You can stop Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings, linked above.
- Depending on where you live, for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information about you. Write to us and we will help.
Sharing and retention
Apart from emails you send us, we do not ask for or store names, email addresses or other contact details from visitors. Data collected by Google Analytics and Google's advertising services is handled by Google under the Google Privacy Policy. Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Analytics account and then deleted.
Children
monthkey is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes and contact
If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. Questions about this policy or your information: contact@monthkey.com.
